Verra Sets Insurance Criteria for CORSIA Carbon Credits
Verra has announced new criteria for insurance products covering CORSIA-eligible carbon credits to address double claiming of emission reductions.
- Insurance products must cover either replacement of affected carbon credits or financial compensation, with mechanisms to monitor and adjust for credit price changes.
- Eligible insurance must be valid for at least two years after the host country’s biennial transparency report deadline and be provided by unaffiliated, creditworthy providers.
